I don’t have all the elements indicated on the content list in the rulebook, the quantities seem wrong. What can I do ? A few mistakes went through our vigilance in the contents section of the rulebook, despite our care. Quantities are corrected here. If, even after a cautious checking of the contents, you’re still missing some of the elements, you can contact our customer service.
Some of the tiles are too big, what can I do ? The tiles of the game are adjusted to fit perfectly into one another, making the different structures they create strong and sturdy. However you might find some of them too difficult to assemble, due to their width being slightly too big. Such difficulty can be met especially on F tiles.
Here are a few solutions for this problem:

  1. Most of the time, leaving the tiles out of the box for a few days in room temperature is enought to fix the problem. It gets rid of the potential humidity they had, and their size comes back to normal.
  2. If the problem persists, we advise you to get a nail file or some sand paper. With a few strokes on the concerned tiles edges it will be enough to reduce the width and allow their assembly. Please proceed slowly and with care, and with a beveled angle. Each stroke folowing the same direction in order to preserve the artwork. This procedure is quick, effective, and bear minimum risks, the result being almost invisible. If you still can’t fit the tiles after this, please make an official customer service request with this form. We’ll send you the necessary replacement. [Visuels vidéo Ludo]
  3. It’s not ideal, but some people prefer to let everything as it is. You can decide not to touch anything and play anyway. In this case, just place the tiles on top of each other. Your game experience won’t be modified.
Will the Setup be different in the beginning of the “For Glory” booklet if I played “The Awakening” just before ? Yes, follow the rules given to you at the Setup page of “For glory”. Please also have a look at the booklets dedicated page.
How should I proceed when I close an Adventure booklet in order to begin my travel ? If you don’t know what you do in this kind of situation, here are a few leads you can consider in order to move forward in your adventure:
Most of the time, you already know your destination… but you still need to determine which path you want to take. Once your next space is chosen, move your Group token one Hex on the Region Map. There you’ll have the needed indications for you to draw your first cards for your first event of the Travel phase. Look inside the rulebook (page 26,2. Travel phase gameplay) for more informations.
How do Talents work ? You can look at the Glossary page 76 of the rulebook or here.
What happens when 2 enemies have to move towards a same Noise token in Stealth mode ? An Action card can indicate that 2 enemies must move towards the closest Noise token. If the fist one reaches the token’s space, the Noise token is discarded. Thus the second enemy doesn’t move, since the token where it should move to is gone. It does not move towards another Noise token either and stays put.
But, if the first enemy doesn’t reach the Noise token the second ennemy does move towards the token as it should be.
Please note that the concerned enemies are to always designated by the rules and/or chosen the players in case of equidistance.(Page 47, section 3.B. ,Enemy phase)
When do I recover my Action Points ? Whether you are in Stealth or Combat mode, you recover all your Action points at the beginning of each new global game turn.
You want to ease the game experience? Your group’s level is too low and you feel combats, in the Even booklet, are too hard and punitive? When you start the game and your group’s level is still fairly low, some of the fights (from the Event booklet) you can encounter can prove to be challenging and too difficult. It can lead to frustration among the players.
In order to ease the overall experience, you might want to lower the difficulty, we offer you a few ideas:

  • Use the “Game mode” card (Scenario card 73) on it’s “easy” side. All the informations on this subject are at page 68 of the rulebook.
  • Use the “Explorer mode” if you want to. Up until your group reaches level 4 included, you can decide to opt for “fleeing” or “surender” to such enconters.
In this case, go th the indicated defeat chapter, but do not apply any of the mentionned negative effects (loosing equipment, gold, life points, etc). Then carry on with your adventure. But be carefull, starting at level 5, the Explorer mode is no longer accessible!

As a remider, to know your level, count how many times you already upgraded your hero caracteristics (you should have it noted on the Save sheet as well).

The Orcs encounters in the Event booklet created by the Event card “I” seem too hard for you? The “I” Event card introduces HEROIC events, mostly related to Orcs encounters. They might be too difficult at the beginning of the adventure, that’s why we can advise you, if you want, to only add this card into the Event cards deck at the Setup of “The Shadow fortress” whenever you start this booklet.
If you face the card before, in order to preserve the game’s narrative, its better to finish the event (whatever the ending). But, when you start a new day (in the game) you’ll be able to take the “I” event card out of the Event card deck (to only place it back in the deck when starting “The Shadow fortress”).
How do I know I have the right result for a riddle? If you think you have the right answer to a riddle, the answer will be a number. Go to this chapter in the booklet you’re currently playing. If the chapter starts with a magnifying glass icon, it means you were right! You can proceed and read this chapter. If there is no icon, do not read the chapter, you don’t have the right answer. Please be advised, it’s better to remember the chapter you just left, in case your answer was wrong, so you can easily go back to it.
How many pieces of equipment can my hero get and how does their way to work change weather they are placed on the Knapsack or the Hero board ? A hero can “carry” different types of equipment: weapons, objects, armors, artifacts, talents. All those elements can be placed either in the Knapsack or around the Hero board. Their effects and activation will varry depending on where they are placed. While playing the game, they can move from one board to the other.

  • A hero can have up to 2 Weapons (one equiped above the Hero board, one stacked on the side of the Knapsack) if the Carrying capacity and Encumbrance allows it. The stacked card has no effect in Combat as long as it’s not equiped (only its potential Heavy equipment icon counts). If the hero doesn’t have any Weapon, they equip their Bare hand card (this card doesn’t count in the Carrying capacity). Be careful: a Weapon Card CAN’T be placed inside the Knapsack slots, those spaces are reserved for the Objects.
  • A Hero can carry as much Objects their Carrying capacity and Encumbrance allows. They don’t have any effect as long as they are in the Knapsack. But be careful, if they show a Heavy equipment icon, it counts, even in the Knapsack! Once played (example: a parchment) or equiped (example: Artifact) elsewhere, their effects are activated.
  • A hero can have one equiped Armor (it can be equiped on the Bare hand card) and can also have other Armor cards in the Knapsack. In this case those cards work like any other Object card (unactive effects, but Encumbrance to take into account).
  • A Hero can equip on the Hero Board up to 1 Artifact per type ( amulet or ring). Like the other Objects, their effects are active while on the Hero board, and inactif when in the Knapsack. Warning: when an Artifact card is lost or discarded, it can’t be retreive by the Hero, it’s placed back into the deck of Object cards it’s from (see page 4, 3. Artifact of the rulebook).
  • Talents are unlimited and don’t have any weight contraindication (Carrying capacity or Encumbrance). You can NEVER place them in the Knapsack

As a reminder: Keep in mind you need to have the Carrying capacity to carry Weapons and Objects in your Knapsack. All the details of the subject, “Carrying and Encumbrance” are page 14 of the rulebook.

How many kinds of damage are there in the game and how do they work ? There are 3 types of wounds: Damages, Injuries ans Shocks. There are many ways for them to occur, but they most frequently happen in Combat mode or in Narrative events (example: the consequences of a skill check).
When a player receives a wound, place a crystal from the Health point area of the Knapsack inside the area of the concerned wound, according to their type. Whenever a hero doesn’t have any Life points left, they are unconscious.
Reminder: to recover Life points, you have to place back in the Life point area the crystals from the other zones before the hero becomes unconcious. Otherwise, they have to be revived (see rules p.54)
To Heal, the heroes must use Potions (by discarding them) witch use is discribed in the Knapsack. Healing this way is only possible for Damages and Injuries.
Be careful, a crystal representing an Injury has to travel up to the Damage area (1 healing action) before going up again to the Life point area (a second healing action, so 2 heals necessary). Shocks are different from the other wounds since they can’t be healed by healing effects. Instead, they are completely recovered whenever Combat mode ends.
It’s possible the Adventure booklets reward you by giving you free healing actions. Carefull, only the concerned heroes can benefit from those heals. And, they are only applied to Damages and Injuries. Find all the details page 53 of the rulebook.
When and how can I use my Aura tokens? The Aura tokens are mostly used with your People’s card actions. When you play, you can use one of those token to give a temporary bonus to your hero, and this for the time of the action (the details of those actions are page 74 of the rulebook). You can use them whenever you want, however some bonuses only work with certain game modes (for example, an addition of attack dice will only be of use in Combat mode). You can use only one token per action (except for the Wallen, see below). Your Aura tokens are not discarded, but “spent”. When they are used, flip them to their other side until you can activate them again. It can happen through some narrative envents. You can also use a green Potion (as indicated on the Knapsack).
Be carefull, the Wallen has a special ability allowing her to use 2 Aura tokens per actions.
Visual mistake on the Scénario cards A kind of Scenario card represent locations where your Group has to go. They show the same visual as the Region Board and must be placed on it. Some of those cards unfortunatly don’t have the right illustration visible (for instance Scenario card 4). Please look at the hex icon on the card to know the right reference of where to place the card on the board. The number indicates where it should be placed.
Can I start my adventure from any booklet ? No. The game is a narrative story lasting inside 10 booklets. You can start with 2 different booklets. Either “The Awakening”, the initiation booklet that gives you a basic first experience of the game, or with the booklet “For glory”. The rest of the story and the order of the following booklets will be told when you’ll be playing. You can never open an Adventure booklet and start playing it right away without being told to do so. You risk a lot of spoilers, a broken story and to be missing some elements (narative and material) to continue your adventure.
If you own an HEROIC version, you have acces to one extra booklet which is different from the campaign and have no connections with it. Please look at the special setup and rules for this booklet before starting it.
What are the independant missions ? The independant missions are little scenarios you can play that have no incidence or connections to the main campaign. They have different gaming times and can easily be played through one evening. Their special rules are at the beginning of the Event booklet and all their narrative is inside the Event booklet. If you start one on those missions you’ll need to get a new save sheet. You can’t start an Independant mission while you’re playing the campaign, those are 2 different things altogether and souldn’t be mixed. (different save sheet, different heroes, etc).
Is it allowed to look at the back of a Scenario card ? No. Scenario cards contain game elements that must be discovered while playing and their reveals are dependant to your choices. There can be riddle answers, narrative elements, special rules, secrets… lots of elements that can spoil the overall story. You can only look at them and use them whenever you’re invited to do so.

What happens to a special black Stealth die’s side when Scenario card 24 is in action, while playing “The forbidden Library”? This card rule prevents the players to eliminate characters you might encounter. They are not enemies. The Special side of the black Stealth die is supposed to trigger the alarm. Here it’s not the case, instead it’s like reaching the end of the Threat track. If this condition happens, you can apply the effects written on the Scenario card.
