Tonight sees the start of the Wizards Cup, the great magic tournament held once every 100 years! As sovereign of your country, you’ll have to select the best Magicians, and decide on their strategy in the Duel…<\/em><\/p>\n May they bring you Glory and Victory!<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Get ready for the big magic tournament, featuring the world’s best wizards: Wizards Cup!<\/p>\n This is a 2-player game only. When all duels have been resolved, the round ends: the player with at least one wizard still in play wins a victory token, and a new round begins. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Does the Blacksmith win against the Surveyor?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Blacksmith’s power only works when comparing Values (criterion 3). If he encounters the Surveyor during a duel, he loses, as water is fire’s weakness and the Elements (criterion 2) are resolved first.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Who wins between the Shaman and the Dancer?<\/strong><\/p>\n If you find yourself with the Shaman and the Dancer facing each other, the Shaman wins because his power is immediate.<\/p>\n If the same configuration exists, but the player with the Dancer also has the Soldier in his or her discard pile, the Soldier’s power cancels out that of the opponent’s Shaman, allowing the Dancer to win.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What happens when the Detective and the Shaman meet in a Duel at the same time?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Shaman’s power is made first, as it has the lowest value (2 immediate powers rule). Discard the 2 Wizards. Before proceeding to the next duel, it’s the Detective’s turn to potentially make his power. If he does, the waiting card goes into the discard pile and not into the Duel zone.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Where does the Detective go when he’s replaced by the waiting card?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Detective’s power suggests replacing him in the Duel zone with the waiting card (optional action). The action of \u201creplacing\u201d does indeed imply swapping the place of these 2 cards: the waiting card becomes the card in the duel zone, and the Detective moves from the duel zone to the waiting zone. Nowhere is it stipulated that the card must be discarded (i.e., the top card of the discard pile is not covered).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n\t\tHow to Play ?<\/h2>\n

\nThe main mechanic is similar to that of an \u201cauto-battler\u201d, in which your cards, representing your team of wizards, are chained together, with the aim of winning duels.
\nEach player has an identical set of cards, consisting of 18 wizards. They each choose 6 cards from these 18, secretly. The aim is to create the best possible strategy by combining the different effects and powers of the wizards.
\nAfter this selection, each player reveals his or her cards one by one, and we see who wins each of the duels thus formed, according to :
\n– The effect of a power (which can instantly knock out one of the wizards)
\n– Wizards’ elements (some being the ultimate weakness of others)
\n– Their magic combat value (designating a duel winner).
\nThe winner of a duel remains in play, while the loser is discarded (some cards have an active power from the discard pile).<\/p>\n
\nPlayers then have the option of changing one of their previously played cards, and rearranging their deck in the order of their choice.
\nThe first player to obtain 2 victory tokens wins the game.<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n
